| For
twenty years Linda Heinzelman has been known for her intelligent
designs featuring strong clean lines that blur the boundaries
between traditional and modern. Her design philosophy features
a refined use of materials especially antiques from differing
periods, sophisticated color and strong signature pieces.
“I create timeless interiors that will look great 10
year from now.”
As
a designer Linda considers the most important aspect of her
job to be marrying the site to the expectations of the client.
“When I begin a project I start by standing in the room
and visualizing exactly how this room will be used. A beautiful
room that is never used hasn’t been designed correctly.”
Linda
Heinzelman studied at the Parsons School of Design and started
her career in her hometown of New York City. In 1989, spurred
on by the birth of her daughter she moved to Westport CT,
where her practice continued to flourish. The influx of New
Yorkers that occurred during that time created a demand for
a look that wasn't “Laura Ashley” anymore.
Linda
Heinzelman’s versatility is shown in the extensive client
list that includes projects as diverse as elegant New York
apartments to sprawling family homes, beach houses in the
Hamptons, executive offices and small hotels. Linda scours
the flea markets of Paris twice a year looking for unique
pieces to bring to her projects
Her
work has been featured In W Magazine, Westport Magazine, Home
and Garden, WRG Homes, and is a contributor to local and national
stories on design.
