"Blues, Views, & BBQ" — Westport, CT

Each year, the "Westport Downtown Merchants Association" and "The Levitt Pavilion" put on a foot stomping, mouth watering weekend on the beautiful banks of the Saugatuck River located in downtown Westport, CT. This year's event will take place on September 8th. Admission includes live music all day, a kids corral, food demonstrations, strolling entertainment, access to eating, and BBQ competitions. The "Blues, Views, & BBQ" is held on the grounds of the Levitt Pavilion (behind the public library), the Westport Woman's Club, and the upper Imperial Avenue Parking lot. The grounds are located off route one, just a short walk from the heart of Westport.

Annual September Event — TBA

"GREENWICH WINE+FOOD FESTIVAL" — Greenwich, CT

The GREENWICH WINE+FOOD FESTIVAL is a 6.3 acre tented event featuring celebrity chefs, cooking demonstrations, gourmet tastings, wine and spirits, plus live performances by favorite headlining musicians. Must be 21 and over to attend. Infants and strollers prohibited. A 2014 schedule of the festival's features and events: TBA.

KICK-OFF PARTY: 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm
The official weekend kick-off party will bring together and celebrate festival sponsors, featured and celebrity chefs, and culinary experts. 100 percent of the evening’s ticket sales and auction proceeds will benefit a charity. Cocktail attire. Tickets are limited.

GRAND TASTING: 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm
The festival’s Featured Chefs will serve a special tasting menu. The Featured Chefs are comprised of select local and regional chefs who create particularly innovative cuisine. The Gala will include wine and cocktails, along with live musical performances. Guests will receive an exclusive gift bag with a festival wine glass and a one-year subscription to Serendipity Magazine. Attire is casual chic and please wear shoes appropriate for the grass.

CULINARY VILLAGE:
The Culinary Village includes gourmet tastings, live demos, and 90+ food, wine, and spirit vendors. 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Celebrity Chef Gourmet Tastings & Book Signings: 12:00 pm to 6:30 pm

"Go Wild!: Family Field Day" — Greenwich, CT

The Greenwich Land Trust's "Go Wild! Annual Family Field Day" is widely regarded as one of the premier family events in Greenwich. All generations are invited to enjoy the al fresco party at Conyers Farm, the Greenwich Polo Fields. There will be something for everyone to enjoy: a rock climbing wall, petting zoo, bungee trampoline, giant maze, birds of prey exhibit, sack races, mini golf, autumn crafts, and much more. Enormous hot air balloons will give supporters a spectacular view of the expansive 62-acre preserve surrounding them.

"Norwalk Oyster Festival" — South Norwalk, CT

The "Norwalk Oyster Festival" is an annual fair in the historic city of Norwalk, CT. The festival takes place on the first weekend after Labor Day in Veterans Park, near Long Island Sound. The fair features various forms of food, BBQ, vendors, concerts and entertainment. It also celebrates the history of the oyster industry based in Norwalk, CT. All entertainment included in ticket prices. Backpacks and large bags are not permitted to be brought onto the field. Families with diaper and baby bags are welcomed. Shuttle bus service will run between the South Norwalk Train Station and the Oyster Festival.

The 2014 dates are Friday, September 5th from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm, Saturday, September 6th from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm, and Sunday, September 7th from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Auto Show: "Caffeine & Carburetors" — New Canaan, CT

"Caffeine & Carburetors" is a gathering of automotive enthusiasts. They meet at "Zumbach’s Gourmet Coffee" in New Canaan, CT six times year to enjoy cars, trucks, and motorcycles and share them with like-minded gear heads, friends, and family in and around Connecticut and New York. Although the group has a tendency to lean towards sports cars, the emphasis is on foreign sports cars.

Each gathering falls on a Sunday and begins at 8:00 am. Gatherings are over a cup of coffee, then followed by a leisurely drive through the countryside. 2014 dates are: June 15th, September 7th, October 5th, and November 2nd.

Green Event: "Live Green Connecticut!" — Norwalk, CT

Celebrate and learn to "Live Green" at this two-day, fun-filled family festival for all ages. Enjoy delicious food, live music, eco-friendly shopping, environmental speakers, and green exhibits. The festival features a "Ford Go Further Tour" with EV test drives, a "Live Healthy CT!" area, great music all day, both days, delicious, local and organic foods, a Cool Kids' Zone plus new featured areas including a home improvement section. Dogs are welcome on a leash of course.

The 2014 dates are Saturday, September 13th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and Sunday, September 14th from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Admission is $5.00 per car.

"Annual Boat Show" — Norwalk Cove Marina

The northeast’s premiere in-water boat show offers the newest boats, must-have gadgets and gear, plus four days of family fun on Long Island Sound. Visitors can shop the best deals of the year and find hundreds of luxury motor and sailing yachts, sport fishers, performance boats, sailboats, and the largest selection of marine accessories in the northeast. If you plan to visit the show by boat, you can anchor in Norwalk Harbor. You can hail the water taxi for a ride to the docks by VHF 72. The cost is $5 per person. Service is offered by Captain Mark Shlegel Water Taxi (identified by a safety-orange flag).

The Boat Show takes place on Thursday through Sunday, September 18th through 21st from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm daily. Adult admission is $15. Save $2 when you purchase tickets online. Age 15 and younger is free when accompanied by an adult.

"Food & Wine Festival" — Southern Westchester County

The Southern Westchester County "Food & Wine Festival" (SoWe) takes place on September 19th through 21st. Pamper your palate and quench your thirst with the weekend’s festivities. The festival showcases gourmet food samplings from hundreds of top restaurants, caterers, bakeries, and pit masters, plus over 300 award winning wines and craft beers from around the world.

Attendees will experience celebrity-chef cooking demonstrations, product displays, book signings, live music, children’s activities, and more. With 25,000 in estimated attendance over the weekend, this year’s program will include an outdoor concert at "Harbor Island Park" in Mamaroneck, NY, a chef competition, a BBQ tasting competition, and a Jazz Bash. On Friday, Sept 19th is the "Best Chef Battle", On Saturday, Sept 20th is the "BBQ Bash, Concert, and Food Truck Parade", and on Sunday, Sept 21st is the "Grand Tasting Village". The event is hosted by The Scarsdale Chamber of Commerce and The Village of Mamaroneck.

"Wine & Food Festival" at the "Newport Mansions" — Newport, RI

The 9th Annual Newport Mansions "Wine & Food Festival" takes place September 19th through 21st at the Elms, Rosecliff, and Marble House. The event features a stellar lineup of "Celebrity Chefs" as well as "Food and Wine Tastings" see packages listed below. The discount tickets listed must be purchased online before September 1st. To take place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel: ages 21-and-over.

Celebrity Chef: "Fabio Viviani", an Italian Chef, television personality, and a New York Times best-selling author. Fabio's on-screen appearances have propelled him to become one of the fastest growing household names in the country. He has appeared in a number of television cooking segments such as "Top Chef" on Bravo and is a recurring guest on "Good Morning America", "The Talk", "The Chew", "Ellen", "Good Day LA", and "Access Hollywood".

Celebrity Chef: "Sara Moulton", a protégée of Julia Child, Sara is the founder of the N.Y. Women’s Culinary Alliance, Executive Chef of Gourmet Magazine, Food Editor of ABC’s ”Good Morning America,” and the host of several popular shows on the "Food Network". Sara's goal is to help the home cook get dinner on the table.

Celebrity Chef: "Floyd Cardoz", restaurateur, cook book author, and Executive Chef of North End Grill. Floyd received the title of "Top Chef on Bravo’s Top Chef Masters" series and won the grand prize of $100,000 for his designated charity of choice, the Young Scientist Cancer Research Fund at New York’s Mount Sinai School of Medicine.

"Wine & Rosecliff Gala" — Friday, September 19th at 7:00 pm. General admission: $190. Preservation Society members: $175. Enjoy the Friday night Gala at Rosecliff with special vintages, food, and music. Experience an evening of high style paired with fine wines in a spectacular seaside setting.

"Connoisseur's Package with Saturday Grand Tasting" — General admission: $290. Includes Friday, September 19th Wine & Rosecliff Gala, and Grand Tasting at Marble House on Saturday, September 20th.

"Connoisseur's Package with Sunday Grand Tasting" — General admission: $290. Preservation Society members: $275. Includes Friday, September 19th Wine & Rosecliff Gala and Grand Tasting on Sunday, September 21st at the Marble House.

"Grand Tasting" — Saturday, September 20th and Sunday, September 21st from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Saturday's general admission: $125. Preservation Society members: $110. Sunday's general admission: $135. The highlight of the weekend is the "Grand Tasting" on the lawn of the Marble House. Great wines, fabulous food, free cooking demonstrations by celebrity chefs, and a silent auction are included in your ticket price.

"Collectible Wine Dinner" — Saturday, September 20th at 7:00 pm. $450 advance purchase only. Great wines, great food, and a great venue brings a stellar group of wine makers together for this exclusive event at The Elms. Only 60 guests will enjoy delectable food, and the wine makers will bring along their best bottles to show you and teach you what truly collectible wines are all about. Cocktail attire suggested. Valet parking will be provided at The Elms.

"Wine Seminars" — $40 each. Travel around the world and visit the greatest wine-producing regions without leaving Newport. Led by industry experts, these sessions are designed for both the new wine drinker and the most seasoned connoisseur.

"Health Wellness & Sports Expo" — Stamford, CT

Take charge of your health at Stamford Hospital's "Health Wellness & Sports Expo 2014" on Saturday, September 20th and Sunday, September 21st, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at Chelsea Piers, Stamford, CT, a 400,000 sq-ft state-of-the-art sports and recreation facility. Admission is free.

"Old Fashioned Flea Market" — Norwalk, CT

The "Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum" holds its annual "Old Fashioned Flea Market" at Mathews Park in Norwalk, CT. The market features antiques, collectibles, jewelry, household items, furniture, clothing, toys and of course, plenty of bargains. A collection of classic and antique cars will be on display at 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. The mansion also offers mini tours on this day at a discounted price.

The 7th Annual "Old Fashioned Flea Market" in 2014 date is Sunday, September 21st from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. The event occurs rain or shine. General admission is free.

"Arts & Crafts on Bedford" — Stamford, CT

"Arts & Crafts on Bedford" is back for its 14th season in "Stamford Downtown". Shop at eighty-five craft and artisan boutiques on Bedford Street. The street will be closed to traffic for the weekend for dining in extended sidewalk cafes. Visit the "Imagination Station" presented by the "Stamford Museum & Nature Center" and the "Bartlett Arboretum" featuring hands on activities for kids. New this year: a "Rock Climbing Wall" sponsored by SMART TAP.

This benefit evening establishes a new tradition of giving in Greenwich and features an array of prominent professional artists in many different fields.
