The name was coined in 1952, when a volunteer at a pre-rummage sale brought along a mink coat to donate to the sale. Someone else had donated a sink, and another volunteer suggested that they name the sale, "Minks to Sinks". Art Exhibition: "Architectural" — Greenwich, CT

Architect Ken Kraus's paintings and sculptures will be on display through May 9th. The paintings have the chromatic burst and formal strength that can only come from the eye of a natural colorist and the hand of a trained architect. Kraus's abstract landscapes evoke sun-soaked days in deserted cities or on Mediterranean beaches. Likewise, his sculptures are bold strokes of acrylic, striking a pitch-perfect balance between energetic sweeps of color and clear, tight, detail.
