Horse Show: "Greenwich Polo Match Schedule" — Greenwich, CT

Greenwich Polo

The "Greenwich Polo Club" is the venue for high-goal polo in the Northeast. Nestled in the beautiful back country of Greenwich, Connecticut and internationally recognized for its rosters of legendary teams and players, "Greenwich Polo Club" hosts public USPA high-goal polo matches on Sundays in June, July, and September. The 2014 scheduled dates are June 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th, July 13th, August 31st, and September 7th.

The gates open at 1:00 pm and the matches start at 3:00 pm. The grounds are open to the public to enjoy a lovely afternoon with family and friends, and to socialize. You can pack a picnic lunch or enjoy a gourmet concession stand offering a variety of healthy lunch specialties. Gate fees are $40. per car. The dress code is "Garden Chic". Call the Club to reconfirm dates and possible cancellation dates. Rain-outs are announced on the day of the Polo Match through their web site.

Auto Show: "Greenwich Concours International" — Greenwich, CT

Greenwich Concours d'Elegance

The Greenwich "Concours International" and the "Bonhams Auction" is on Sunday June 1st from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Automobilia is at 9:30 am and Motorcars are at 12:30 pm. The show goes on rain or shine. Admission is $30 per day. Children 12 and under are free when accompanied by an adult.

The "Greenwich 12-M Yacht Development Foundation" will have a display of former America's Cup 12-Meter yachts moored at the Delamar Hotel. Given good weather, they will engage in match racing during the weekend. Enjoy trying out the display of "Virtual GT" driving simulators in the "Automobile Magazine/Motor Trend Pavilion". There will be galleries of automotive art and demonstrations, as well as imported marques. Classic motorcycles will also be on display.

New England Air Museum: "Antiques Auto Show" — Bradley Int'l Airport, CT

The "New England Air Museum" will hold its annual "Antiques Auto Show" on Sunday, June 1st. Co-sponsored by the "Connecticut Council of Car Clubs", this will be one of the larger auto shows of the year. Visitors can expect a wide range of cars including early antiques such as Model T’s, show cars from the 30’s & 40’s, street rods, sports cars, the dream cars of the 50’s, and muscle cars of the 60’s and early 70’s. The show will feature the 50th Anniversary of the "Ford Mustang".

The "Auto Show" will run from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm with the museum staying open until 5:00 pm at Bradley International Airport. A food vendor will be on site all day. Also available on the day of the event will be the "New England Air Museum’s Flight Sim Spot" which provides visitors with a high tech flight experience. Admission is $12 for ages 12 and up, $11 for seniors 65 and up, and $6.50 for ages 4 to 11. Children under 3 are admitted free.

"Hidden Garden Tour" — Westport, CT

The Westport Historical Society’s 22nd annual “Hidden Garden Tour” celebration takes place on Sunday, June 2nd from 9 am to 4 pm. Two dozen vendors will be set up selling plants, garden tools and accessories, jewelry, lavender-scented pillows, beach blankets and apparel, olive oils, antiques, and more. The tour itself will feature five gardens, three in Westport and two in Wilton. The locations of the gardens are not announced until the morning of the event but you can read about them on their web site.

The "Garden Tour" and "Marketplace" will be followed by a "Toast the Tour" party at Gilbertie’s Herb Gardens in Westport from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm. There will be wine, food and music during bidding at silent and live auctions. Tickets are $50. There is no admission charge for the marketplace.

Tickets can be purchased in advance online or by calling (203) 222-1424, or picked up June 2nd starting at 9:00 am at the Garden Marketplace. The cost is $35 for members, $45 in advance for non-members, and $50 the day of event. Shuttle bus rides are available for an additional $15.

Food & Wine Fest: "Wine & Food Week" — White Plains, NY

Westchester Magazine's 4th Annual "Wine & Food Week", is a spectacular annual event that draws thousands of enthusiastic guests each year from Fairfield and Westchester Counties. It presents world class wines from around the world, gourmet food samplings from the region's top restaurants, and award-winning chefs who participate in seminars, classes, and cook-offs.

The "Wine & Food Week" showcases a variety of signature events including: "Burger & Beer Blast" on Friday, June 6th, a "Grand Tasting" on Saturday, June 7th and Sunday, June 8th, "Wine Seminars" on Saturday, June 7th and Sunday, June 8th, a "Winemakers Connoisseur Dinner" on Saturday, June 7th, and a "Farm-to-Table Brunch" on Sunday, June 8th. A portion of the ticket sales will be donated to the "Food Bank of Westchester" and "Friends of Westchester County Parks".

The "Grandiflora Garden Tour", themed "The Glory of the Garden" takes place on June 5th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm to benefit the "Greenwich Garden Education Center". "Cook-Off" hosted by "Teen Chef Hunter Zampa" — Stamford, CT

"Go4theGoal" joins forces with "Kula for Karma" on Sunday, June 8th from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Italian Center of Stamford for a "Cook-Off". The event is hosted by teen chef prodigy, 13 year old "Chef Hunter Zampa", the "Teen Chopped Champion" and "Rachel vs. Guy Kids Cook Off" competitor.

Proceeds benefit The Schwartz Family, Kula for Karma's therapeutic yoga, and Go4theGoal's programs at Yale-New Haven Hospital's pediatric oncology division. Tickets are $35.00 for adults, $15.00 for children ages 7-18, and free for kids 6 years and under.

"Charity Horse Show & Grand Prix" — Darien, CT

The Ox Ridge Hunt Club's "Charity Horse Show" and "Grand Prix" is held on June 10th through 15th of 2014. Ox Ridge has hosted a number of important, nationally recognized, horse shows over the years. The "Charity Horse Show" has an 82 year history featuring internationally famous riders in breathtaking exhibitions of show jumping at its very best.

Art Exhibition: "Art Walk" — Stamford, CT

"ART WALK" showcases the growing art community and collectors market in Stamford, CT. As part of their "Art in Public Places" initiative, and in conjunction with this year’s "Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition" entitled “Downtown Abstractions", Stamford Downtown is sponsoring its first ART WALK on Friday, June 14th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Saturday, June 15th from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. A majority of the artwork will be available for purchase and remain on display until July 7th.

Auto Show: "Caffeine & Carburetors" — New Canaan, CT

"Caffeine & Carburetors" is a gathering of automotive enthusiasts. They meet at "Zumbach’s Gourmet Coffee" in New Canaan, CT six times year to enjoy cars, trucks, and motorcycles and share them with like-minded gear heads, friends, and family in and around Connecticut and New York. Although the group has a tendency to lean towards sports cars, the emphasis is on foreign sports cars.

Each gathering falls on a Sunday and begins at 8 am. Gatherings are over a cup of coffee, then followed by a leisurely drive through the countryside. 2014 dates are: June 15th, September 7th, October 5th, and November 2nd.

Children's Event : "Victorian Ice Cream Social" — So. Norwalk, CT

Recreating the atmosphere of a bygone era, the "Lockwood Mathews Mansion Museum" will bring back a highlight of summer at the Mansion, the "Victorian Ice Cream Social". This community event will use the Mansion as a backdrop for a wide range of educational and family-friendly activities.

Children will learn about and play "turn-of-the-century" lawn games such as croquet and badminton while costumed historical interpreters will wander throughout the crowds interacting with children and adults alike as they bring the Victorian era to life. Children will learn and try their hand at how ice cream was made in the latter half of the 19th century, just as the frozen dessert’s popularity exploded across the country with the advent of the hand-cranked ice cream machine.

The event takes place on Sunday, June 22nd from 12:00 noon to 5:00 pm. Admission is free.

"Norwalk Art Festival" — Norwalk, CT

The "Norwalk Art Festival" takes place on June 28th and 29th, Sat & Sun from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, at Mathews Park in Norwalk, CT. Hosted with the support of "The Center for Contemporary Printmaking", "Stepping Stones Museum", "Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum", NicaPhoto, The Norwalk Parks Department, the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County, and Jerry's Artarama, this art festival will be a premier cultural event in the area. The artists will be the feature of this two-day festival located in a beautiful park setting nestled between two Museums and a nationally recognized Art Center as well as the Connecticut Visitors Bureau. This juried fine art and fine craft festival will be free to the public and is family friendly. There are children's art activities, performing artists as well as a food offerings.
